  Pursuing Economic Development and Opportunity
  • Creating jobs by having business friendly policies, allowing for commercial development which lessens the burden on the taxpaying homeowner. Let's shop and conduct business in Stafford!
  • Pursuing a Science and Technology Center right here in our county. The talent already lives in Stafford.  Let's bring the jobs here.  By pursuing a technology campus, we broaden our tax base, alleviate the transportation problem and allow families to live and work in their community.
  • Roll-back the anti-business posture of the current majority.  We are costing our small businesses over $3 million dollars per year by implementing the business tax (BPOL).  This halts our trajectory as one of the leading business growth counties in the state because we no longer offer an incentive for businesses to come here.  The current board even voted to cancel our membership to the Chamber of Commerce.  This is not forward-thinking and this short-term gain will be very painful for us in the long-term.

Public Safety

  • Public safety and the well-being of our citizens is a top priority for me and is one of the main functions of government. Over his years of service in the Marine Corps, my husband Dan deployed to different parts of the world to help protect our country, so our family understands the nature of the sacrifices our police and fire make every day by simply doing their job to keep our community safe. As your Supervisor, you have my commitment that I will make sure our Law Enforcement and Fire and Rescue have the tools and means to do their job to protect our families.

Leadership, Vision and Sound Management

  • Making sure every tax dollar is spent wisely and with fiscal responsibility. Every tax dollar we take is money out of your family budget so we owe it to you and your family to be purposeful with your money.
  • Preserving our AA bond rating and strive for a AAA bond rating.
  • By squandering our reserve fund, we will lose our bond rating, which means every capital improvement project will cost millions more. This comes out of your pocket and mine! This is one of the reasons I am running for office.

Accountability and Transparency in a Commonsense Government

  • A top-to-bottom review of all government departments. Trim all unnecessary costs in this time of budget shortfalls and focus on the core services and needs of our county.
  • No 3 a.m. votes such as the one when BPOL was enacted. The public deserves a voice in the policies our government adopts.

Being an Advocate for our Schools

Over 60% of our budget goes to our schools yet there is no dialogue between the Board of Supervisors and the School Board. We must work together to ensure that our schools are the best that they can be; our children and their teachers deserve this.

Curtail and Better Manage Growth while Preserving Falmouth's Character

  • We must be smart about the way we manage growth but our county is on track for a train wreck. This is self-evident by the unprecedented number of lawsuits that are a result of a irresponsible policies created by a rogue Planning Commission and adopted by the board. We need leadership not lawsuits!
  • Preserve the beautiful historical character of our Falmouth. Right now, old Falmouth is zoned into the George Washington District.  Because of our rich heritage, let's make sure we zone it back into the Falmouth district.
